Dalla Valle Cabernet Sauvigon 2000 (California)

Charming, forward and approachable despite its youth.  Ripe, berrie, mocha, toasted malt, incense and jasmine on the nose palate.  The sweet, high-toned nose is followed by a palate that nicely reflects the elegant refinement found year in year out in our Cabernet.

Leroy Nuits St. George 1986 (France)

"1986 was always hard in its youth," commented Bize-Leroy.  "'85 was earier but '86 is often more racy."  A ripe, woodsy, bouquet, with cherry and mineral notes introduces, this fine yet firmly structured red.  It's forused by lively acidity, ending with with a long aftertaste of spice and mineral.  Drink now through 2020."  Wines Spectator, March 9, 2006

Inglenook Rubicon, California 2009 (Napa Valley)

95% Cabernet Sauvigon and 5% Petit Verdot.  Sweet red berries, mocha, flowers and the many notes that nuances, silky Cabernet opens over time. There is still plenty of 2009 structure, but it is nicely balanced.

Ornellaia Masseta 2006 (Italy)

100% Merlot

Staggering richess in a style that perfectly captures the essence of this great Tuscan vintage.  Black cherries, flowers, licorice and sweet toasted oak are just some of the nuances that emerge.  A wine of breathtaking depth, it also reveals superb clarity, freshness and vibrancy in sumptuous, beautifully-balanced style.

Dalla Valla Maya 1994 (California)

55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Franc.

Dense garnet to violet, viscous mouth feel.  Bright ripe fruit.  Beautiful floral and intense dark fruit aromas that are expansive in the mouth and evocative sweet violet, raspberries and some woodsy notes.  The wine is rich & dense with an excellent balance of black fruit to tannin.  Completely balance.  Overall impression is of fruit and lots of tannins with lots of layers & depths.  Unified and seamless.  Elixir like.

Penfolds Grange, 2003

Pulidio-Walker Cabernet Sauvignon 2010 (California)

First release for this new winery's single vineyard.  100% Cabernet Sauvignon.  Deep rich color.  Smells of cinnamon and allspice along with mulberry & black cherry concentrate.  Rich, yet with harmony of power and elegance in the mouth.  80% new French oak complements the intense fruit and big structure of the wine.  Very Limited.

Chategu La Mission Haut-Brion, Pessac-Leognan (France)

Like its more famous neighbor, Haut-Brion, the 2001 La Mission Haut-Brion has closed down considerably since bottling.  A blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc.
